The annual LiveLighter Dardanup Bull and Barrel Festival is returning for its 13th instalment - this year honouring the Anzacs and celebrating the town's rich history.

Held on October 10, the festival will feature an Anzac display, momentous artefacts from Dardanup's past, over 150 market stalls and many different activities.

Festival chairwoman Jill Cross said the event was a worthy occasion to honour Dardanup's involvement in WWI.

"Dardanup - like every other country town - was involved in WWI," she said.

"Dedicating the festival theme to Dardanup's involvement and history is a way of commemorating what took place."

Mrs Cross said the festival would be an action-packed day which would have something to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

"There will be plenty of activities taking place this year," she said.

"Students from Dardanup Primary School and Our Lady of Lourdes have also made a lot of beautiful artwork that follows the Anzac theme too - it's set to be a great day."

This year's festival will mark the first time clydesdale horses have taken part in the event, with six of the placid animals set to put on a working demonstration.

Doral Mineral Sands and Healthway will again be the festival's major sponsors.

Festivities start at 10am and will continue until 9pm, with the spectacular annual burning of the fire sculpture concluding the event.
