South West residents can embrace other cultures at the 12th annual LiveLighter Dardanup Bull and Barrel Festival on October 11.

As part of this year’s theme ‘Celebrating the World’, visitors will be treated with a range of food stalls from around the world and a showcase of multicultural dancers, including Indian, Maori, Spanish and Fijian.

LiveLighter Dardanup Bull and Barrel Festival chairwoman Jill Cross said the festival showcased the attractions of Dardanup and Ferguson Valley and gave families a low-cost day out while learning about farming and other cultures.

The festival will offer a host of attractions for people of all ages, including an art exhibition, a farmers market, the agricultural trail, quiz for kids and more.

The festival will receive support from major sponsor Doral Mineral Sands and naming rights sponsor Healthway.

Doral human resources officer Nicole Porteous said the company was honoured to be the festival’s major sponsor for the 12th year.

“We are really keen to see the Celebrating the World theme and we’re excited to see the activities they have planned for this year,” she said.

Healthway director of sponsorship Anthony Radich said the organisation was proud to have the opportunity to promote the LiveLighter health message at the festival.

The festival, which has free entry, will run from 10am to 5pm before giving way to evening entertainment from 5pm to 9pm, ending with the spectacular burning of the festival-themed fire sculpture created by artist Russell Sheridan.
