Film jury out and about in SW
Screen royalty graced some of the region’s finest locations this week in the lead up to CinefestOZ which started on Wednesday.
CinefestOZ jury members Benjamin Illos, Sue Milliken, Marta Dusseldorp and Margaret Pomeranz were spotted in Smith’s Beach yesterday morning ahead of their major announcement on Saturday night.
The group, who were joined by jury chairman Bruce Beresford, were presented with a gift designed by Yallingup’s John Miller Design Studios.
The gala night, film prize and screen legend evening held at the festival Marquee opposite Orana Cinemas tomorrow will have all the glitz and glamour of the red carpet jury members are used to.
The night will start with the Australian premiere of My Summer in Provence, followed by the announcement of the CinefestOZ screen legend and film prize award.
The debut CinefestOZ film prize will see the producer of an Australian feature film or documentary awarded $100,000.
Six finalists — Felony, Son of a Gun, The Reckoning, The Waler: Australia’s Great War Horse, My Mistress and Paper Planes — were selected from 20 entries.
