Catch some of the world’s best short films when one of Australia’s premier movie festivals brings a selection to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre next week

Now in its 22nd year, Flickerfest attracted more than 2300 entrants, with just 100 selected to be judged in the official competition.

The impressive number and calibre of entries, which come from all over the world, confirmed Flickerfest’s reputation as Australia’s biggest and most respected short film competition.

Each successful entry was handpicked to represent the most innovative, creative and cutting edge short films being produced today.

BREC will host a one-off screening of the Best of Australian Shorts program at 8pm next Friday.

The program contains 10 short films, including WA-born writer Julius Avery’s Yardbird, winner of Flickerfest’s Best Australian Short Film, which in 13 minutes tells the tale of a young girl living in a junkyard who takes on local bullies when they turn their attention to her father.

The specially-selected program, which has screened all over the country, contains a diverse selection of short films, many of which are world or Australian premieres, giving local audiences the first look at some of the hottest short films doing the rounds of the global circuit today.

For bookings or further enquiries call BREC ticketing on 1300 661 272.
