A generous donation of food, toiletries and cash will help the surge of people seeking help, according to Bunbury Intown Centre staff.

Dreambuilders Church held a food drive throughout August and delivered the collection of donations to the support centre last week along with a cheque for $2000.

Church members amassed 920 non-perishable food items and toiletries during the drive.

Community pastor Kris Plumb said the donation was part of the on-going partnership the church had with the centre over the past four years.

“We really believe in supporting community groups that are doing a great job,” Mr Plumb said.

“It’s not something we do to get recognition for, we just believe in giving back to groups that are supporting the community.”

Centre manager Leanne Gibbs said the donation would be a significant help following an increase of 200 new clients during the past two months.

“We are very thankful for the donation and we are very lucky to have good community support,” Ms Gibbs said.
