Football: Landmark fixtures released

Fixtures have been released for the 2011 Landmark Country Football Championships to be played from July 14-17.

More than 400 of the State’s best country players will descend on Perth for the annual carnival at grounds around the metropolitan area.

The A-Division, which was increased to six teams in 2010, will welcome the return this year of Great Northern after a number of seasons in B-Division.

The South West’s campaign gets underway against Lower South West, Peel play Goldfields while Great Northern will take on reigning champions Upper Great Southern to complete the opening round of fixtures for A-Section on day one.

All seven colts teams will compete in one division in a round robin format for the first time this year.

South West colts play Great Southern and Kimberley Spirit on Thursday and Avon and Peel on Friday.
