Four new hands up for Dardanup Council
Dardanup residents will choose from nine candidates contesting seven vacant seats in the upcoming council elections.
On the list are four new candidates, four sitting councillors and one previous councillor.
Running for re-election are Mick Bennett, Carmel Boyce, Betty Murfit and Luke Davies. Frank Papalia, who spent eight years on the council but missed out on a seat at the last election, will also run.
New to the field are Annette Webster, Tyrrell Gardiner, Dudley Greathead and Allen Mountford.
Ms Webster lives in Eaton and is concerned about the increasing crime rate in the area.
Mr Tyrell has lived in the Shire of Dardanup his whole life and is involved with local sporting clubs and groups.
Through a position on council he hopes to give back to the community.
Originally from Albany, Mr Greathead is a member of Millbridge Lions Club and is chairman of the Glen Huon School Council.
Mr Mountford is a third generation farmer in the region, a life member of the Collie Agricultural Society and a also member of the Millbridge Lions Club.
Ballots will be posted to residentsregistered on the State or Federal electoral roles ahead of the October 19 polling day.
