Get a health check @ Manea College

South Western Times

Manea Senior College provides community members with an opportunity to access a wide range of free health advice and information when Healthbound@Manea returns on Saturday.

Now in its second year, the event will once again feature a range of stalls, demonstrations and activities manned by health professionals and designed to promote community health and wellness.

Some of the services on offer include vision, hearing, skin and blood pressure testing as well as fitness assessments, cooking demonstrations and course information from universities in Perth.

This year’s event will also showcase Manea Senior College’s health and medical specialist program, with students of the inaugural class lending a hand to healthcare professionals.

Manea Senior College associate principal Rod Rykers said the main purpose of the event was to give something back to the community.

“Our school is named after a very well known local doctor in Ernie Manea and we identified this kind of free, health-focused event as something that just wasn’t available in Bunbury,” he said.

Healthbound@Manea is on Saturday from 10am to 2pm at the school grounds.
