Leschenault will have to wait a week in order to extend their lead on top of the ladder, after last weekend’s washout of all A grade matches.

Last week, heavy rain and icy winds battered the region, which meant A-grade players were able to cheer on their lower-grade teammates in matches on hard wickets at Hay Park.

After two rounds, the Green Caps have opened up a four-point buffer at the top of the BDCA points table, ahead of second-placed Colts.

Rounding out the top four are Marist and Eaton, who are in fourth despite having not won a game so far.

However T20 action returns this weekend, with the Green Caps forced to cool their jets on the sidelines with a bye.

At the Bunbury Recreation Ground, Colts host Marist, who are unbeaten in the shortened form of the game so far in 2019-20.

This match looms as a beauty, with both sides possessing quality across all phases of the game.

The Marist bowling attack of Michael Webb, Allan Utterson, Dan Lomax and Brayden Clarke has been firing on all cylinders this season and will fancy another scalp to add to their growing collection.

Such has been their early momentum, the Blues have won the toss in both of their opening T20 matches this season and have sent the opposition into bat on both occasions.

Should they bat first, the home side will be counting on Cruize Ciallella and Joe Barningham to get amongst the runs, while Josh Topliss is primed for a big day with the ball.

In the remaining game of the round, Hay Park entertains Eaton at home.

Both sides have flirted with their form so far and will eye this match as an opportunity to build some confidence. Spectators could be treated to some excellent duals, with Redbacks opener John Richardson going toe to toe against Beavers paceman Clint Hewson.
