Management of Harvey's rubbish dump will be put for public tender.

The contract for the council's Richardson Road site is due to expire on June 30, with a two-plus-three year term proposed for the next contract.

The contract cost is likely to exceed $100,000, which has forced the council to put it for tender under the Local Government Act.

A three-week tender period to take place is unlikely to be decided before the June 30 expiration of the current contract, so the existing contractor will continue on an interim month-by-month basis.
