Bunbury has experienced a wet start to spring, with two-thirds of the average September rain falling in the first half of the month.

Three days of heavy rain has pushed the tally to 60.8mm so far this month, which is well on the way towards the long-term September average of 86.6mm.

The wettest day this month was September 5, when the Bureau of Meteorology's Carey Park site recorded 27.2mm of rain.

Both of the next wettest days occurred last week with Friday having 10.8mm and Saturday 14.6mm.

The average maximum temperature so far this month matches the long-term figure, although the nights have been colder than usual.
