The community is invited to grab a paint brush and add some colour to the Enable South West carpark wall this Friday.

The organisation is celebrating International Day of People with Disability by hosting a community art event in the centre’s carpark on Beach Road, Bunbury.

The celebrations will kick off at 9.30am with a sausage sizzle and South West band El Dorado playing some tunes until 2.30pm.

Bunbury artist Deanna Mosca will sketch out a design for participants to paint throughout the day.

Enable South West chief executive officer Rob Holmes said the art event represented “connectedness” in the community.

“It is about bringing the community together because we want anyone to come down and help paint the wall,” he said.

“The mural will represent the circles and squares in our logo and once the wall has been coloured in with paint, Dee will come and add the finishing touches.

“We are really excited to see how it will turn out.”

Chief operations officer Rhea Tansell said Enable South West focused on connecting within the community and engaging outside their clientele.

“Art is a form of an expressions and can be understood by everyone,” he said.

“Some of our clients who can’t speak create some amazing pieces of art work.”

Head down to 104 Beach Road, Bunbury on Friday to help create an amazing piece of artwork.
