It’s HBL v Bunbury in the grand final
Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault will take on Bunbury in this Friday night’s South West Football-Netball League grand final after defeating the Busselton Magpies on Sunday.
The Lions claimed the 43-38 victory to set up the contest, which will take place at the Eaton Recreation Centre.
The game was hard fought from the first whistle, as both teams’ centre court players took valuable intercepts through the mid-court.
This resulted in a low scoring eight-all scoreline at the break.
The Lions brought tall goal shooter Renee Cashell onto the court and this had an immediate effect, with the Lions scoring the first four goals.
Defenders Kate Baker and Kate Fielding worked hard, while Jessica Repacholi was excellent at wing attack.
Both sides fought hard for the rest of the match, but it was the Lions who prevailed.
The Lions will contest all three grand finals, with their A Reserve team playing Bunbury at 6.30pm and the 18 and under team taking on the Blackwood Ravens at 5pm.
