BCG administration assistant and part-time model Jacey Brown, 20, will be strutting down the catwalk during next month’s heats after being chosen to compete in the top 60.

Miss Brown, a former Miss Summer Girl and Miss Hawaiian Tropic Bunbury winner, said the competition was nerve-wracking but she found ways to deal with stage fright.

‘‘I get overly excited,’’ Miss Brown said.

‘‘I try to make as many friends as possible and talk about anything other than what we are about to do.’’

Miss Brown is hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year’s competition winner Perth model and Miss Universe contestant Scherri-Lee Biggs.

‘‘I competed last year and finished in the top 60 but I’m going to top that this year,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s something I really enjoy doing.’’

Miss Brown has already been named as a finalist in this year’s Miss Summer Parade competition and will be back on the catwalk at The Parade Hotel next month.

The Eaton resident said her favourite things to do were going to the beach, spend time with friends and family and keep fit and healthy.

Miss Brown credits ‘‘clean eating and exercising’’ for her trim figure.

‘‘I know it’s hard when you work full time, I find it hard as well, but the more you exercise the better you feel,’’ she said.
