Graham Jetta has had a sensational season for Carey Park since returning to the South West Football League this year and he took that form into this year's Landmark Carnival.

Jetta moved to the Panthers at the start of the season after finishing with WAFL side Swan Districts and is one of the hot favourites to win this year's Hayward Medal.

At this year's Landmark Carnival, the clearance specialist was not only given the _South Western Times _ Medal for the best SWFL player at the carnival, but was also awarded the prestigious Jock Coleman Trophy for the best player in division one.

Jetta became the 11th South West player to win the Jock Coleman Trophy, following players such as coach Jamie Nani (2000), South West legend Leon Baker (1977) and 2014 medallist Daniel McGinlay.

Jetta starred from the very first game of the championships, with his work in the midfield pivotal in every game.

But no performance could match the one against the Great Northern Football League, when he brought the SWFL back into the game with two crucial goals and some incredible work in the midfield.

The speedster turned the momentum after the GNFL side had kicked four successive goals and looked to have eliminated the SWFL from the competition.

"I was surprised to win the award because I know all the best footy players come from the country and it would be a tough," he said.

"I just wanted to play consistent footy over the three days of the carnival."

Jetta said one of the reasons he decided to play this year was to have fun playing footy with his teammates and have his family watch him.
