Jumble sale sends Scouts to jamboree

The 2nd Bunbury Sea Scout hall at Queens Gardens will be alive with activity this week as the Scouts get ready for their fundraising Jumbo Jambo Jumble sale on Saturday.

The Scouts have been raising money all year with the aim of joining 12,000 of their like from across the country at the 23rd Australian Scout Jamboree in January 2013.

The jamboree will form a mini city in Maryborough, Queensland, and will have its own mall, radio station, newspaper, medical centre and security, as well as onsite and offsite activities.

All money raised atthis weekend’s Jumbo Jambo Jumble sale will gotothe Scout families attending the jamboree.

There will be 11 Scouts and three leaders from 2nd Bunbury Sea Scouts joining Wanneroo, Broome, Collie and Westfield Scouts on the trip.

Through fundraising, families can be assisted with the considerable cost of travelling from WA to Queensland and a 10-day camp.

There will be a plethora of recycled bargains at the jumble sale, as well as a cake stall, raffles, a sausage sizzle and fun and games for children,includingthe famous Scout rope bridge.
