Playground equipment at two popular Bunbury parks is due to be upgraded and the designs could be chosen by children.

Bunbury City Council will hold public consultation days at Bill Beaton Park in East Bunbury and Whiteman Park in Usher this week where residents will vote on their preferred design.

Landscape and open space manager Kristy Tillett said it was important for the residents surrounding the parks to have a say on the next generation of playground equipment.

“These parks are integral parts of the local community and we are very keen for surrounding residents to be included in the decision-making process,” Ms Tillett said.

“We will have two options at each park for people to choose from and we are really encouraging the kids to come down and place a sticker on their favourite design.”

The park design options could include equipment such as a pod swing, multi-play station, swing set with a toddler seat or spring rides.

The Bill Beaton Park consultation is today from 4pm to 5pm.

Whiteman Park will be tomorrow from 10am to 11am and then 4pm to 5pm.
