Kids will go gaga for Lady Baa Baa
Whether she is counting sheep with The Count or knitting a new cape for Grover, Lady Baa Baa is doing Australian sheep proud and joining Elmo and his Sesame Street friends on his world tour.
The characters from Sesame Street have been joined by a well-travelled Australian sheep best known for her colourful outfits and love for knitting.
Lady Baa Baa is the only Australian Sesame Street character and joins the cast for Elmo’s World Tour.
The garishly glamourous sheep who has been compared to leading Australian entertainer Dame Edna Everage calls herself a quadruple treat.
“I can sing, dance, act and knit,” the accomplished ewe said.
Although she is reluctant to reveal whether she was more lamb or mutton, Lady Baa Baa has taken on a motherly role with the other Muppets.
“I suppose I’m the senior citizen of the group and I like to take responsibility for the young ones,” she said.
The show follows the Sesame Street Muppets as they help Abby Cadabby find her lost magic wand.
They take an alphabetical tour around the world and learn to dance, sing and say hello in the countries they visit.
“We go around the world and end up in Australia,” Lady Baa Baa said.
“We go to Zambia, to France where we learn to Can Can and we go to India.”
Elmo’s World Tour will visit Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on October 30.
