Koombana development gets final approval

South Western Times

Final approval for the land use and building heights for Landcorp’s Koombana North Waterfront precinct were granted by the Bunbury City Council last week.

Once fully developed, the area will provide access to a range of shops and cafes through the Koombana North mixed use development, a five-building precinct of four to six storeys with commercial use on the ground floor and a mix of commercial and residential on the upper levels.

The building heights will be set at four storeys (up to 20.5 metres), five storeys (up to 23.5 metres) and six storeys (up to 27 metres).

The council received 19 public submissions on the plans, including six objections from residents who opposed the loss of public open space.

The WA Planning Commission has the last say on the development. Koombana precinct
