Selectors have announced a strong 30-man South West Football League team to play the Peel Football League this Sunday at Hands Oval in the first game of the Landmark Championships.

The reigning champions will look to kick off the championships with a win this weekend and will have a mix of young and old players for the game, with a number of debuts set for the big match.

Coach Jamie Nani has included a number of experienced players to complement the debuts, with captain Will Oelsnik to lead a side of superstars including Curtis Guglielmana, Simon Parry, Kyle Hams, Anthony Tsalikis, Michael Russell and Brendan Page.

A number of surprise selections were also made, with the Collie Eagles Joel Mahar and Reid Saunders selected, as well as Augusta-Margaret River forward Jack Hick.

Former WAFL stars Michael Florio, Hams and Tsalikis have also made themselves to strengthen the already strong squad.

A South West Football League colts side will take on Swan Districts’ side in the curtain raiser, with a 40-man squad set to be announced later this week.
