Reigning Tabtouch Interdominion champion, Lennytheshark, will be assessed today to see if he will take his place in the $1.1 million final tomorrow night at Gloucester Park.

The David Aiken-trained seven-year-old pulled up lame when running second to Run Oneover in the second of the final heats at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

Racing and Wagering Western Australia veterinarian Judith Medd found Lennytheshark to still be sore despite scans clearing him of structural damage.

Lennytheshark won the first heat of the series last month, before finishing fourth in Bunbury last week and second on Friday night.

Aiken has been applying poultices to clear an abscess in Lennytheshark’s near fore hoof and has also had special shoes fitted in the hope of getting him fit.

RWWA will conduct another inspection today before he can be cleared to race.

Stablemate, Hectorjayjay is the clear favourite to win the series, after winning his third straight heat on Friday night at Gloucester Park.

The six-year-old brown gelding finished more than four-and-a-half metres in front of the second-placed The Bucket List.

Hectorjayjay has drawn barrier nine for tomorrow night’s final.

Lennytheshark will start from barrier four if he is cleared to race.
