Little Ella on long walk for Telethon

South Western Times

Seven-year-old Ella Hutton’s shoes were made for walking.

The determined Bunbury girl will lace up her best joggers and set out on the 30km trek from Bunbury to Capel to raise money for Telethon.

The Our Lady of Lourdes student has already raised more than $600, but aims to reach the $2000 mark.

Ella said she wanted to help sick children and make them smile.

"It makes me sad to think of the sick kids in the hospital and I really wanted to help them," she said.

"I know it is going to be a long way but the kids are worth it."

Proud mother Annie said she would be walking just behind her daughter and supporting her the whole way.

"She was watching television and saw a boy who was raising money and came to me and said she was going to walk to see Nanna in Mandurah," Mrs Hutton said.

"I told her that was a bit far and we decided on Capel instead."

Ella began training for the long walk yesterday starting with shorter 7km hikes into Bunbury.

Those who want to help Ella reach her goal can go to www.everydayhero.com.au/ella—hutton to donate.

All money raised will go to Telethon.
