Man charged for burnouts

South West police have charged a Capel man after allegedly doing several loud burnouts in the town early on Saturday morning.

Traffic officer-in-charge Sgt Craig Clarke said police responded to reports the 20-year-old man was allegedly doing burnouts in a Holden Commodore about 5am.

Sgt Clarke said the same man was allegedly subject to previous complaints and was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of reckless driving.

Police impounded the vehicle for 28 days.

The man will appear in court at a later date.
