Man dies in fire at Eaton caravan park overnight

A man has died after a cabin at Riverside Cabins. Caravans and Camping on Hamilton Road in Eaton caught fire overnight on Wednesday.

Police and emergency services were called to the park about 12:10am on Wednesday and found a male deceased inside a cabin.

The arson squad was at the park on Wednesday investigating the blaze which was initially not believed by police to be suspicious. However, the cause was undetermined at time of the Times going to print.

Police and emergency services barricaded the area off on Wednesday morning, and covered the front fence of the park along Hamilton Road with blankets and tarpaulins which largely concealed the scene from by-passers.
