Man flown to Perth after highway crash

South Western Times

A man was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital yesterday afternoon following a collision between two cars at the intersection of Hynes Road and South Western Highway.

A Holden station wagon and Ford Falcon sedan crashed just after midday, with three people injured.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The RAC Rescue helicopter was called to transport the passenger of the station wagon to Perth, where he remains today in a stable condition.

Traffic was diverted from the site of the crash as police closed South Western Highway between Willinge Drive and Hynes Road while emergency staff and Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service firefighters from Eaton-Australind helped at the scene.
