Marist curbs leaders Wests’ advance
Wests hit a speed hump in this year’s South West Hockey League, losing to Marist 2-1.
Blues captain-coach Andrew Blee blasted a goal in each half to answer Nayton Colombera’s first half conversion courtesy of stand-out Geoff Neaves, eagle eye fullback Fab Crescenzi and Mat Barbetti with Tom Payne, Colombera and Ben Payne catching the eye for Wests.
Associates beat Towns-South 6-0. with David O’Brien, Sean Cowan and Aaron King running Towns-South ragged.
The win helped them close the gap on league leaders Wests.
Champions Boyanup defeated Exies 3-0.
