More roadworks at 'notorious' roundabout

CLARE NEGUSSouth Western Times

Traffic lanes have been closed at the Eelup roundabout as Main Roads continues work on new traffic lights, a third lane and a sliplane at the busy intersection.

The $16 million works are aimed to increase vehicle capacity and reduce the number of crashes at the notorious black spot.

The roundabout will have traffic signals on all four approaches and a sliplane from Roberstson Drive to Sandridge Road.

Transport Minister Troy Buswell said the works would fit well with the ultimate future upgrade of the site which will incorporate a flyover.
