Eaton Bethanie Fields residents can now enjoy their meals surrounded by views of sweeping vineyards thanks to a creative art group.

Australind Art Club has painted a mural in the dining room of the aged care facility specifically designed to match the area’s existing vineyard theme.

The club hosts a special art group for residents every month, focusing on different painting styles while covering the cost of art supplies.

Bethanie Fields lifestyle coordinator Roxene Cleggett said the mural was a popular talking point for residents and praised the artwork as a significant contribution from the club.

“We couldn't be more appreciative – to have them create something like this with input from our residents is really special,” Mrs Cleggett said.

“We have quite a number of enthusiastic artists at Bethanie Fields who are truly proud of their efforts and it’s been such a fantastic experience to watch them engage at such a level.”

Club member Elena Mansel said including the residents in painting the mural was important and many gave tips and hints during the nine-day project.

The club meets twice a week and is encouraging more members.

An art exhibition at Bunbury Centrepoint Shopping Centre, which started yesterday and runs until Saturday, will showcase the club’s work with 5 per cent of all sales going to charities in the area.
