Cancer Council WA has launched three tailored health programs to help people living with cancer to battle the disease.

The Life Now classes, which will be held at Dot's Place in Bunbury, include a six-week Life Now yoga program, a six-week Life Now tai chi class and a 12-week Life Now exercise course.

The free sessions are for people of all ages living with cancer and their carers.

Maximum Results exercise physiologist Chris Andrew, who will conduct the exercise program, said the course aimed to combat cancer treatment side effects and improve overall physicality.

"The program is modified and tailored to suit people's needs," he said.

The Life Now exercise program will concentrate on improving body strength, balance and cardiovascular capabilities.

Mr Andrew said the class would also focus on helping people affected by cancer increase bone muscle density, improve muscle mass and reduce overall fatigue.

Dot's Place coordinator Jill Massingham said the three programs also promoted a caring and supportive environment for people affected by cancer.

"The other thing people will benefit from is camaraderie and also the social aspect," she said.

Life Now yoga started yesterday at Dot's Place and Life Now tai chi starts today.

The Life Now exercise program starts on February 15 and will be held twice a week every Monday and Wednesday by Mr Andrew.
