New York, Paris, Venice, Sicily and Harvey are filming locations for a gangster movie to be premiered at the Venice Film Festival next year.

The film, produced by Perth-based company Magnetic Films which released The Swimmer last year to world-wide acclaim, will have one scene filmed in Harvey next month.

Titled Over the Horizon, the feature-length film is about a hit-man and will include up to 50 locals as extras.Italian-born producer and director Giovanni Basso said Harvey was chosen for its strong Italian connection and for Chalbury Park Bed and Breakfast, where the scene Harvey Food Festival will be shot.

Mr Basso will visit the town this weekend to register extras for the scene.

He will need 25 men and 25 women between the ages of 40 and 65.
