Nominations open for junior sports award

Has a junior athlete in your club represented your sport at a State, national or international level?

Nominations for the Myles Junior Sports Star of the Year Award are now open, recognising the talents and dedication for athletes under the age of 18.

First presented in 1966 by Ned Myles, the award is bestowed annually on the most outstanding young sports representative in the Greater Bunbury area.

The award is not only for the athlete who demonstrates a high level of sporting ability but they also must contribute to their sporting community through coaching, umpiring and general promotion of their sport.

All athletes must be nominated by their clubs.Last year, the award was won by boxing prodigy Nathaniel May who trains at Denning Boxing Gym.

The 17-year-old has represented Australia on several occasions.
