November heat ‘average’
Bunbury recorded its first day of more than 30C since March but last month’s maximums were still only average.
The temperature exceeded 30C on five occasions during November, peaking at 32.7C on November 26.
It was eight months since Bunbury had been that hot.
Two maximum temperatures and six minimums are missing from the Bureau of Meteorology’s official data for November.
BoM spokesman Neil Bennett said this would be considered preliminary data and would be altered if further data was received.
He said outages, possibly caused by power failures or instrument outages at the Bureau’s official Carey Park site, were the likely cause.
The recorded average maximum for last month was 24.4C, which exactly matched November’s long-term average.
January was the last time Bunbury had a month of maximums that were above average.
The average minimum, according to the 24 days that have been recorded, was 10.3C.
This is almost two degrees below the average November low of 12.2C.
Bunbury also had 4.8mm of rain last month, spread over two days.
