Glamour pacer Lombo Pocket Watch indicated that he was ready to take on the State’s best pacers in tomorrow week’s $400,000 SEW Eurodrive WA Pacing Cup with a devastating win in the TME Pace at Donaldson Park on Tuesday night.

Lombo Pocket Watch treated his rivals with contempt despite having his first start in 14 months.

He cruised forward for reinsman Chris Lewis with 1300m to travel to join the leaders and hit the front at the 400m mark before dashing clear to score by 30m over outsider Wonofus and All In Teck.

The Ross Olivieri-trained seven-year-old rated a smart 1min. 57.8sec. for the 2100m trip and seemed to have something in reserve.

‘‘He felt very forward and did it well but obviously next week will be a different story against top opposition,’’ Lewis said.

Lombo Pocket Watch is now a winner of 41 races, which includes 19 in succession, and should prove a worthy rival in next week’s cup where he will clash with crack pacers Washakie and Im Themightyquinn.

Washake and Im Themightyquinn will go head-to-head in tomorrow night’s $250,000 Stallion Station Fremantle Cup, while Olivieri opted for an easier option first-up with Lombo Pocket Watch.

Bruce Almighty made it a hat-trick of wins when he was a smart winner of the Perkins Builders Pace.

The Courage Under Fire four-yearold was badly hampered for room turning for home before trainerreinsman Bob Mellsop was able to force a run. Bruce Almighty then sprinted fast to narrowly defeat Golden Bromac and In The Magic Den.

Meanwhile, top Bunbury pacer Son Of Fergie has drawn barrier one in the Fremantle Cup and can play a part despite the sharp class rise.

The Stephen De Campo-trained pacer has been in sparkling form of late with victories in the Narrogin Cup on December 9 and his latest success in the New Years Eve Cup at Donaldson Park on December 31.
