Peaches beyond compare for Groovin'

To compare internationally renowned artist Peaches to anyone else in the industry would be unfair as she describes her music as “her own kind of genre”.

Formally known by her birth name Merrill Nisker, Peaches has been in the industry for over fifteen years and feels she is completely herself and doesn’t need to answer to anybody.

“I find myself to be a pioneer of sorts and I follow my own path really,” Peaches said.

Peaches has built a reputation with her suggestive and intelligent lyrics, developed by her self-taught skills with various instruments such as the acoustic guitar, keyboard and drums.

“It has been a consistent, great ride and I have always been able to do what I want to do and tour wherever I want.

“I enjoy myself and am outspoken in the way I want to be,” Peaches said.

Fans will be thrilled to know there is plenty coming up for Peaches including the release of a new album and a photo book, as well as her appearance at this year’s Groovin' the Moo.

“I love Australian fans – they just go mental and don’t hold back.

“I look forward to seeing them and seeing some places in Australia I have never seen before.

As for her performance, Peaches said she always “gives 500 per cent” and that her fans will have a lot of fun at her set.

As well as being a major influence on fellow mainstream and underground artists, in the past Peaches has also been a keynote speaker and guest lecturer at institutions such as NYU and the University of Toronto.
