Collie police arrested a 45-year-old man on Saturday afternoon after allegedly finding him in possession of a taser and throwing knives.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a controlled weapon after being pulled over by police in Allanson at about 3pm on Saturday.

The man was alleged to have a taser which was disguised as a torch as well as three illegal throwing knives.

Sgt Mike Dean said it was disturbing to find such a nasty weapon in the hands of someone.

“These are made overseas and it is illegal to import or posses them,” he said.

“I encourage anyone who knows or has these weapons please hand them in to police.”

The man is expected to appear in court in March.
