Veteran Capel thoroughbred trainer Ross Price will team up with his son Clint when he tackles WA’s richest race, the $1 million Carlton Draught Railway Stakes (1600m) at Perth’s Ascot Race course on Saturday.

In a bid to end an 18-year Price stable drought in the Railway the father and son have officially joined forces to take leading local galloper and race favourite Colour Correct into the lucrative group one handicap — a first for the WA racing industry.

With almost four decades of experience in the racing industry, it is a timely combination between Ross, 59, and son Clint, 27.

Ross, who prepared previous winners Medicine Kid (1990) and Welcome Knight (1992), saidClint’s return to the family’s coastal property after time helping trainers in Europe had added another dimension to his program on the eve of the lucrative race.
