Racy display wins in Cup first

Adult toys and novelty store Adultshop.com has won the Bunbury Chamber of Commerce and Industries’ inaugural Autumn Racing Carnival window dressing competition.

The adult store beat 12 other entries to win two tickets to the BCCI Corporate Marquee at the Bunbury Cup today.

The window was lined with mannequins dressed in colourful raunchy jockey outfits and derby diva costumes, which was the creative brainchild of manager Natasha Farmer and assistant Eyvonne Pirihi.

‘‘We entered our store in the competition not only to promote Bunbury racing carnival week but to promote Adultshop.com as a brand that is moving into the mainstream marketplace,’’ Ms Farmer said.

‘‘Our store merchandising including our window displays are tastefully displayed and decorated to reflect our image that is very professional, customer friendly and a place where you will have a very pleasant shopping experience.’’

Chamber chief executive officer Andrew Horan said the peak business group put the competition together as a way of encouraging businesses to embrace the Autumn Racing Carnival and to drive business to the retail sector.

‘‘This is the first year we have run the competition and we were very pleased with the response and will aim to grow it in future years,’’ he said.
