A $4.15 million regional waste management facility will benefit the seven shires of the South West, according to Regional Development Minister Terry Redman.

Mr Redman announced the funding for a state-of-the-art waste disposal service for the Bunbury Wellington Group councils this morning while visiting Bunbury.

The waste disposal service will have the highest standard of recycling and waste management in regional WA for the next 30 years and will be located in the Shire of Dardanup.

“It’s a fantastic initiative which has been on the cards for this group of seven shires for more than a decade,” he said.

“They have been planning for a combined waste management facility where they can come have something with greater efficiency.

“With $4.15 million they can now go down the path of purchasing the site and funding initial site works and professional services.”
