Road deaths trial delayed

The Bunbury trial of an 85-year-old Perth man facing two charges of dangerous driving causing death has been delayed.

Kenneth James Knox, of Manning, was due to face the Bunbury Magistrate’s Court yesterday for a two-day trial over the deaths of Rebekah Williams, 17,and Rebecca Favero, 16.

However, an application submitted to the courton May 13 to vacate the trial date was granted.

Mr Knox was charged after his Subaru Forrester allegedly collided head-on with a Ford Laser near Boyanup on May17 last year.

The crash killed Miss Williams and Miss Favero and caused bodily harm to three passengers in the car.

A status conference has now been set down for June 20 to finalise the new trial date.
