Sign to boost centre trade
A new sign on the corner of Norton Promenade and Bussell Highway, will be erected by the end of the month to attract people to the Dalyellup shopping centre.
Directional Systems Australia director Rod Phillips was responsible for the sign’s planning application and approval process.
He said Woolworths would pay for the sign and it would drive jobs and growth at the centre as more people would shop there.
“The sign provides an opportunity for the shops at the centre to get passing traffic to stop because it can be difficult in smaller areas to get the customers,” he said.
Planning services manager'''''' Cecilia Muller said although the sign related mainly to the anchor shop in the centre (Woolworths) it promoted the whole precinct.
She said the signage was on a regional road reservation and required approval under the Greater Bunbury Region Scheme.
Woolworths would be responsible for the maintenance of the sign, including damage caused by vandals or vehicles.
