Three young Bunbury singers will spend the next three years refining their skills at the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

Bonny Mae Twigg, Christian Zappia and Grace Armstrong are all Bunbury Entertainment Agency products and have been selected for the contemporary music course at WAAPA.

Agency founder Dianne Stewart said she was very proud of all three students for being accepted.

"It shows the performance skills they have and they deserve this," she said.

Mr Zappia and Miss Twigg play together in a duo called Finding Clyde and are also accomplished solo performers.

By coincidence, they were together when they received the emails telling them they had been accepted.

Mr Zappia took up singing less than three years ago after previously focusing on instruments. He described his strength as song writing.

He said the feeling of being accepted was unbelievable" and he was excited about studying alongside two friends and many of the State's best up and coming musicians.

"Being able to interact with people not just interested in one specific genre opens a lot more doors and gives a lot more creative expression," he said.

Miss Twigg described WAAPA as a place that "transforms you into a performer" and was also looking forward to being surrounded by people with similar interests.

Having started her musical journey as a pianist before moving to vocals, she said her favourite style to perform was contemporary pop.

Miss Armstrong, a singer and guitarist who specialises in folk and acoustic styles, will also begin her WAAPA journey this month.
