Slammers coach in shock resignation

South West Slammers women’s coach Darren Austin has resigned from his position.

Austin, who led the Slammers to the 2012 women’s SBL championship, told the players his decision prior to Thursday night’s training session.

The Slammers sit eighth on the ladder with a 6-8 record and have eight games left until finals.

They have a bye this weekend and play high-flying Joondalup Wolves next Saturday.
