A stellar effort from import Tre Nichols was not enough for the Printsync South West Slammers to avoid their fourth consecutive loss on Saturday night.

The Slammers were smashed by the Willetton Tigers for the second time in three weeks, losing to the home side 102-81.

Nichols gave his best effort to get the Slammers over the line, scoring a game-high 41 points, but there was too many passengers for the South West side.

The Slammers were down by just 13 points at the last break, but scored just 14 points in the final term, which exasperated the margin.

Royal Crouch put in a solid effort with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but he was the only other Slammers player to enter double digits in the scoring.

Turnovers were again costly for the Slammers, with Willetton scoring 20 points from the South West side’s mistakes.

Nicholas Cody (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Charles Funches (18 points and 11 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles, while captain Kyle Armour show at an impressive 58 per cent from the field.

The Slammers will now turn their focus to their clash with the Rockingham Flames this Friday night at the Eaton Recreation Centre.

The Printsync South West Slammers women’s side are still searching for thier maiden win of 2016, after suffering a heavy 42 point loss at the weekend.

The Willetton Tigers scored a massive 30 points to the Slammers five in the first quarter to set up the 87-45 victory.

Dena English tried her best all night for the visitors, coming off the bench to score 11 points in a solid performance.

Meanwhile Raya Thompson (seven points) and Brittany Gliddon (eight points, six rebounds) also fought hard, but for little success.

Former college basketballer Courtney Bayliss scored just two points for the night, with just one of her 17 shots successful.

Meanwhile for the Tigers, Perth Lynx player Louella Tomlinson scored a massive 20 points and captain Kate Malpass had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
