A double-double from import Royal Crouch and a 38 point third quarter was not enough for the Printsync South West Slammers to defeat the Perth Redbacks on Friday night.

The Slammers were competitive in the first half, before dominating in the third term to outscore the home side by 13 points.

However the Slammers could manage only 15 points in the last term on their way to a 111-106 defeat.

Crouch had a monster game for the Slammers, grabbing 13 rebounds and a massive 30 points, to go along with his partner in crime, Tre Nichols' triple-double (28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists), as they competed strongly against the Redbacks.

But a poor last quarter let the Slammers down, with Perth coming from behind on the back of Jack Wagner (29 points and five rebounds) who led the Redbacks to an excellent shooting performance.

The home side hit 11-of-16 from the floor and five-of-six from beyond the arc in the last to outmuscle the Slammers when it counted.

Redbacks import Jourdan DeMuynck was impressive with 18 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals to go along with Tyler Viskovich's 12 points and 12 rebounds and Ben Smith's 11 points, five boards and five assists.

Slammers veteran Trent Worthington kept his strong early-season form going with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while recruit Corey Easley had his best game with 16 points.
