Soup Patrol back on track
The Red Cross’ Soup Patrol service will be back on the road this week after the van’s vehicle issues were resolved.
Last Thursday, the South Western Times reported on the troubles with the van’s headlights and tyres.
Red Cross community services senior manager Barbara Hollin said the vehicle would be back on the road this week after a full service and repair.
“The vehicle was taken off the road earlier this month for repairs,” she said.
“We have received several generous offers of support to help keep the van on the road and we are grateful for the high level of support Red Cross receives in the community.”
The service has delivered free soup and bread to homeless and low-income people in Bunbury for the last 17 years.
