Carey Park survived a third-quarter scare against Donnybrook at VC Mitchell Park to outrun the Dons by 29 points in perfect conditions on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers midfield, led by Brayden Lawler, Viv Blurton and Perth recruit Reese Richardson, took control of the last quarter to kick the final four goals to secure the 12.17 (89) to 9.6 (60) win.

The Busselton Magpies made it five wins on the trot, defeating the Collie Eagles 9.8 (62) to 8.2 (50) in a low scoring affair at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday night.

Skipper Daniel McGinlay led the Magpies charge with his customary attack at the football and proved to be the difference between the two teams as he booted two crucial back-to-back goals in the third quarter.

Bunbury continued its unbeaten season after beating Augusta-Margaret River 12.13 (85) to 6.7 (43) on Sunday.

The league leaders were far from dominant, only leading by eight points at half-time before seeing off the determined Hawks in the second half.

An outstanding second half from Boomer Chris Atthowe lifted Eaton to a 27-point victory over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault at a sodden Glen Huon Reserve.

In a game that was much tighter than the final 9.7 (61) to 5.7 (37) scoreline suggests, the Boomers were made to wait until the last five minutes of the game to put the result beyond doubt after a spirited performance from the eighth-placed Lions.

Leigh Kohlmann brought a lot of smiles to South Bunbury on Sunday when he booted five of his tally of seven goals in the last quarter in his first game for the season as the Tigers stormed home with 11 majors to run out 104-point winners over the Harvey Bulls.

He was not the only bonus for the Tigers as former West Coast Eagle Adam Hunter recovered from a slow start to boot four goals in the 21.16 (142) to 5.10 (40) victory.
