South West’s top talent on display at Eisteddfod
There has been plenty of music and fun at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre for the WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod during the past three weeks.
More than 2000 students are expected to perform at the 58th annual event, which began on May 26 and runs until June 20, before a gala concert closes the event on June 25.
Piano, strings, percussion and vocal performances have all taken place with music students showing off their skills.
The event will continue this week with contemporary vocal, woodwind, guitar and dance performances.
Eisteddfod president Myra Easton said the event had gone very well so far and she was extremely pleased with the quality of performances.
“We’ve had some wonderful performances from all the sections so it’s hard to pick a stand out,” she said. “There were some really good performances in the ensemble percussion, digital piano and string ensemble sections.”
Mrs Easton said she encouraged the public to attend the sessions and witness the talent for themselves.
