Spring into a blooming awesome exhibition
The Bunbury Regional Art Galleries will be blooming with a different kind of art when the annual Floral Art exhibition opens today.
The Bunbury Flower Designers Club will welcome spring with festivities starting at the galleries at 2pm and finishing at 7pm to give people the chance to see the art at its freshest.
The exhibition challenges the floral artists’ creativity and skills to create colourful and imaginative designs.
‘‘Blooming art is a wonderful opportunity for passionate floral designers from Bunbury, South West and the metro area to share the joy of beauty and nature in our special art form,’’ Floral Designers Club exhibition chairwoman Eileen Wenn said.
‘‘We are always so delighted to see the very young to the very young at heart taking time out to smell and enjoy the blooms at the exhibition.’’
The popular exhibition includes a big ‘‘Blooming Art’’ section featuring invited guest artists, the competitive section with large floor designs, the ‘‘Grow and Show’’ section and the creative handbag section which is a popular concept around the world.
The centrepiece for the exhibition will be a stunning display of colour as Eileen Wenn, with the help of club members, recreates a design that she demonstrated on stage to an audience of 1200 people at the recent World Flower Show in Boston.
All who attend the exhibition will be invited to cast a ‘‘viewer’s choice’’ vote.
The Floral Art exhibition runs until Monday.
