State’s leading watercolourists promote their medium
Collie will showcase some of the State’s best watercolourists in an exhibition opening tonight.
Watercolours WA – City to Country will include 75 works and runs until January.
It is an exhibition by the Watercolour Society of WA, a group that offers membership by selection only. Society president Susan Payne said the group aimed to promote the complexity of watercolour art and have it “accepted as an entity in its own right”.
West Australian artists Penny Maddison and Stephanie Boyle will conduct workshops at the gallery while a number of other exhibiting artists will spend time in the region in search of creative inspiration for their work.
Tonight’s opening night runs from 6pm-8pm at the Throssell Street gallery.
