The beautiful sound of classical music will flow out of Koombana Bay Sailing Club on Saturday night when Philharmonic South West holds a concert.

A number of professional musicians including flautist Sabine Kozlowski will perform works by the likes of Mozart, Beethoven and Gershwin.

Perth-based composer David Pye has travelled to Bunbury weekly for rehearsals and the world premiere of his piece Serenade will take place on Saturday.

About 45 musicians, including “some outstanding talent” will perform, the group’s concert master Sabine Pfuhl said.

“People should come because they can listen to classical music in a relaxed environment while watching the sun set over Koombana Bay,” Mrs Pfuhl said.

The night would be a “cultural experience”, she said, and starts a busy season of performances for Philharmonic South West including a candlelight Christmas show.

Saturday’s concert begins at 5pm and tickets can be bought through Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, online or at the door.
